Westerville North Girls Lacrosse opened up the first round of the OHSAA tournament with a solid performance over Westerville South cruising to a 15-4 win. North’s defensive unit of Kate Smith, Sydney Chafin, Courtney Hornyak, Jenna Morgan, Jireh Brown and Eve Malick held the Wildcats to just 1 goal in the first half and 4 overall. In goal, Reese Burke and Madi Martin shared goalie duties and had a combined 10 saves on the night. On the offensive side, Paige Miller led the way with 5 goals. Noel Orioli, Grace Heighway and Alexis Bowsher each contributed 2 goals, and Maddy Morrison, Emily Garee, Lauren Harris, and Aubrey McMahon each added a goal for the Warriors. Grace Heighway’s first goal of the night was her 100th varsity goal of her career at North. Maddy Morrison’s goal was her first varsity goal. Great job Warriors!
