The Westerville North boys basketball team fell to visiting Westerville South 55-37 on Jan. 29, 2021, a night when Westerville South coach Ed Calo earned his 500th career win.
Camden Ledford and Noah Lawrence scored 10 points each for the Warriors (6-7, 5-4 OCC).
“They deserved to win tonight,” North coach Shan Trusley said. “I thought we deserved to win last Saturday. I thought it was two good teams representing Westerville the right way.
“The kids played the right way on both sides. I’m happy for coach Calo. I’ve known coach now for 35 years and he’s a good friend. They did a lot of things well tonight. Our kids gave effort to the very end. The ball just didn’t fall for us like it did last Saturday.”
The Wildcats jumped out to a 17-9 lead after the first period and made it 30-19 at the half. South was up 47-27 entering the final quarter.
