Rivalry games are meant to come down to the the final minutes and Friday didn’t disappoint. With 20 seconds left on the clock and the Warriors down 62-61, Julius Brown hit a pull up jumper with .5 seconds left and the 63-62 victory over Westerville Central. The Warriors led by 9 at halftime but that lead was quickly erased by the Warhawks early in the second half. Central would take the lead for most of the 3rd and 4th quarters until Malik Sammons scooped up a loose ball with .40 seconds left on the clock to tie the game at 61. The Warhawks were fouled with 20 seconds left and made 1 of 2 free throws setting up the game winner by the Warriors. Four players would score in double digits for North with Julius Brown having 18, Connor Ledford 12, JJ Harvey 10 and Austin Bennett 10. The Warriors move to 2-1 on the season and will host Olentangy on Friday, December 16th.
